It was muddy and cold day with an early attack from the leading pack leaving me in dead last. I fought hard to catch the pack and when we hit the hill I passed a few to take first. I was out in front for a while until I was caught. My competitor and I battled for a miles for he pulled away from me putting me in second place.  I was trying to chase down the leader and pace car when a volunteer out on the course directed me to go the wrong way. Oh man, I said to myself...
