I know. I’m sorry. I’m a little late on this follow up blog post about the Winona Forest Stone Wall Snowshoe 5k. Let’s get into our time travel machine. It was January 10th and about 60 people showed up from places that had no snow, in a torrential downpour, to participate in the Stone Wall. Unfortunately, the weather was not our friend that day.
I crawled out of bed way before I wanted to that morning, only to be greeted with smiles once I arrived at CCC Camp. Our team of Stickboy Coffee ambassador’s showed up ready to run to help raise money for Winona Forest. It was one of those moments where I stopped to realize what an awesome company we are building. My sense of humor was bright, Stickboy Coffee was in tow and I was ready for the race.
Warm weather and rain have never been friends with snow. The snow was melting and in some parts of the course, we had volunteers shoveling snow onto the course. Loved it! What a great adventure. You just don’t get to experience moments like that when you are inside watching re-runs of Friends. Running is a habit I finally don’t have to give up.
At the end of the day, this event is a fund raiser for Winona Forest, which is a wonderful resource for the community. We continue to strive to be the voice for Mother Nature! Stickboy Coffee wants to be in business for a long time, and in order to do so, a healthy planet is necessary for our business to grow. Anything we can do to protect Mother Nature, we will do.
